The 40th Indian national wins Dubai Duty Free’s Millennium Millionaire Promotion

Tuesday, 9th February, 2010 – Today Dubai Duty Free conducted its 103rd Millennium Millionaire draw and marked the 40th win by an Indian national in the popular US$1 million promotion.

Mr. Jayant Kumar Shukla, became the latest Indian national to become a dollar millionaire. Currently based in Russia Mr. Shukla purchased his ticket no. 3234 in Series 103 on 08 January 2010 when flying back via Dubai to his home country India.

On being notified that he is the 40th Indian national to win the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Promotion, an emotional Mr. Shukla said, “I am very thrilled that I have won, this is simply amazing and I thank Dubai Duty Free for making this happen”.

A presentation was then made to the winner of the 102nd Millennium Millionaire promotion, as Mr. Sony Dominic, an Indian national, based in Dubai presented with his US$1 million cheque.

Three winners were also announced today in the Finest Surprise promotion with each one winning a luxury vehicle.

A fifteen year-old Pakistani student, based in Karachi, Abdul Wajid Irfan, won a brand new sporty BMW X6 50i Black, in Series 1419 with ticket no. 0233. Mr. Paolo Passini, an Italian national, based in Abbadia Lariana, Italy, won a Harley Davidson FLHT – Electra Glide Standard with ticket no. 0139 and Mr. Issam Kerriou, a Canadian national, based in Bahrain won a Harley Davidson VRSCF – V-Rod Special with ticket no. 0307. Meanwhile, Mr. Christian Onate, a Filipino national, was also present to collect the keys of the Harley Davidson, which he won in Series 147 with ticket no. 0535.

The draw was conducted by Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, Sinead El Sibai, Manager Events, Advertising and Media Relations, Nic Bruwer, Human Resources Manager, Sean Staunton, Manager - Operations and CP Joseph, Manager Operation Support.
